Young Williams Animal Shelter

Young-Williams Animal Center began in 2001 as the Knoxville/Knox County Animal Welfare Center. Citizens created a new center as a partnership with the city and county along with private citizens who shared a passion for animal welfare, which opened in 2004. The Animal Village opened in 2010 as a secondary facility.

How You Can Help

The animal center needs volunteer help every day. Volunteers are welcome at the main center on Division Street and at the Village on Bearden Hill as well as throughout the year at special events. All potential volunteers will need to complete a Volunteer Application. We offer short-term volunteering opportunities for community service, TN Promise, etc.
